Nyiragongo Volcano – Lava lake

A lava lake is a large pool of molten rock that resides within a volcanic crater.
The lava within these lakes can remain fluid for extended periods, sometimes weeks, months, or even years, depending on the volcanic activity.

Lava lakes are very rare in Earth, only 8 nowaways and Nyiragongo in the Democratic Republic of Congo is one of them and it is the largest.
